The experiences of different groups in rural settings are of significant importance to the study of rural geography itself. In particular, the experiences of both young people and travellers, often labelled as others, are important in the way they provide a different perspective on rural spaces and cultures from the common `productivist and `idyllic cultural views. However, because they are minority groups and different from the normal majority, young people and travellers experience significant stereotyping from countryside cultures. The same interviewee also drew his family engaged in a game of cricket while on a picnic in the country, surrounded by animals and trees. He related such experiences to the idea of spaciousness, explaining that residents could just `walk outside and go into one of the open fields in order to play a game of cricket or have a picnic. Obviously the more sophisticated notions of rurality are lacking in these limited experiences but the essential components are there, illustrating that most children have had some experience of countryside spaces and cultures. Travellers, another minority group, also have a number of different experiences of rural space and culture. Views on the subject of gun control range from one extreme, all guns are bad, to the other extreme that all existing laws should be revoked and every person should own a gun. In the discussion on gun control there are a few points that everyone argues about. Two of the most popular topics on gun control seem to be, do guns contribute to crime, and would tougher gun laws prevent gun fatalities? With all the different subjects discussed within the gun control controversy, the topic of how tougher laws would affect the death rate, associated with firearms, seems to be most common. Dennis Henigan believes that the laws need to be redirected toward better safety features on guns, to prevent some accidental shootings. Henigan also believes that the gun manufacturers should be liable for the lack of safety devices that could prevent accidental shootings. Morgan O. Reynolds and W.W. Caruth III believe, that the laws, proposed for the control of gun crime, would rase the price for purchasing a gun; but do little for preventing crime from being committed with them. According to Woody West, guns are responsible for the deaths of many people, some of which are innocent, but before we make new laws we should try enforcing the scores of laws already enacted, but not enforced. On the far end of the argument against controlling crime through banning guns sits David B. Kopel with his opini on that banning guns to reduce crime makes as much sense as banning alcohol to reduce drunk driving. Moving from one extreme to the other, the Associated Press released an article that sites the Brady Law with saving more than nine thousand lives, and urges more stringent regulation of firearms. Many others such as Reynolds, Caruth, Kopel, and West, disagree that the Brady law saves any lives, or is of much good. Reynolds, Caruth disagree with the argument that laws such as the Brady Law, named for the late Jim Brady, is the answer to the onslaught of these violent crimes. The Brady Bill would not have saved Jim Brady. As with other similar shootings, the predator still could have legally obtained the weapon he used, because he had no previous felony record. According to Woody West, to find a story of a shooting tragedy, you don't have to look very long to find television covering each as luridly as if it were the end of civilization as we know it. Dennis Henigan seems to express his own very strong opinion when he wrote, the gun industry has a choice: It can continue business as usual, but only if it pays its fair share of the costs, or it can take the necessary and feasible steps to reduce the misuse of its products. While Henigan takes a very firm stand on the subject of how guns contribute to crime, Kopel takes a more haphazard approach, saying that there could be a relationship between guns and crime, but more studies are needed. Though it seems Hamlet is insane, there is evidence showing he is not a mad man. Hamlet says he is not mad almost throughout the whole book, shearing his feelings and emotions with just about anyone that means something to him. On the other hand even the ones that are close to him think otherwise. As a reader I could understand why they thought such ways about him. Hamlet is very angry at the fact that his mother married his father’s brother, right after his own death. Those actions triggered anger within hamlet that was only toward the ones that was after him. Mostly at King Claudius, but there is reason behind it all as Hamlet said â€Å"I am but mad north-north-west, when the wind is southerly, I know a hawk from a hand saw.†(II.ii.378-379). Hamlet means that when a certain situation happens, or when certain people are around, he can be mad. For example when he was talking to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern right before the play starts, they were thinking of what Hamlet meant so they can transfer the message to Claudius, but the message was too confusing for them to send. As said before there is method behind Hamlet so called madness, it’s all a part of a plan that him and King Hamlet strategized on top of the roof. Hamlet could easily obtain himself he states â€Å"It is not madness that I have uttered. Bring me to the test. So Hamlet begins to seek for information about his father death. Hamlet has met with his best friend Horatio and he tells Hamlet that he has seen his father as a ghost and he has requested that he want to talk with him. After the meeting between Hamlet and his father, he feels that its only right to put on an act. Hamlet says â€Å"As I perchance here after shall think meet to an antic disposition on† (i.v.172-173) after the conversation that his dead father had changes his attitude, which made him, put on an act to bother some of the people that were involved in his father death. Unfortunately, the Spartans were betrayed by a recently rejected Spartan tryout named Ephialtes, who decides to pay back King Leonidas for his rejection. Ephialtes ultimately destroyed any chances of Sparta defeating Persia by informing Xerxes about an unknown secret Goat Passage that would lead Persia to the backs of the Spartan soldiers. Xerxes and the Persian army soon defeat Sparta but all in good name. Due to the motivation and courage of the 300 soldiers, they inspired all of Greece to go against Persia and fight. Part 2 After watching the movie, it is clear that most of the war tactics and strategies are very accurate to the actual real life battle that we knew. According to 300 Spartans, â€Å" This unit was produced of 300 Spartiati Warriors who were held in their highest esteem by their fellow citizens in Sparta†. (300 Spartans) So due to Sparta’s vastly outnumbered army size, military order was a major factor when battling. Not only was the order and position of their army an effective strategy, but it also helped favor Sparta and gave a competitive advantage when battling enemies who didn’t have such order. This was a major contribution to why King Leonidas wanted to battle at Thermopylae, also known as â€Å" Hot Gates†. This was a tiny area that made it favorable for smaller forces. â€Å" The pass of Thermopylae consisted of three ‘gates’ where the land narrowed in a favorable position foe a smaller army. The East and West Gates were extremely narrow, however, the Middle Gate while a little wider than the other gates is where the Greek warriors set up their defensive positions. (Spartan Warriors) King Leonidas spent a great deal of time focusing specifically on the training of his soldiers so they could be properly ready for battle. As shown in the movie, his formations for battle highly impacted what the outcome of the war would be. A repetitive battle formation used with Sparta was called the Phalanx. The Phalanx is a formation that lined up a small group of men pushing on the backs of the man in front with their shields giving no room for an enemy to slip by and eventually overcome them. â€Å" Now in actual fighting, it was a big shoving match with the front lines pushing against the enemy and each subsequent line pushing against the back of the men in front. (Military History) This was done by working his way into fighting in a narrow closed off area in hopes of entangling enemies and causing unexpected chaos. This would ensure the full potential of his warriors against Persia. Since Leonidas’ army was so well trained, they had no problem defeating Persian soldiers head to head. So to enhance battling conditions for Sparta, going between mountains, leaving only a small pathway for minimal enemies to get through at a time was standard and a critical way to fight for the best outcome. Now in the movie there is a small scene that shows Spartan soldiers dispersed and fighting one on one with several enemies. This was not an actual occurrence with Spartans because separating would have engulfed themselves with the multitudes of enemies that surrounded them. In the movie it is not entirely depicted correctly as even mentioned by, allexperts. com, â€Å" In actual combat, if the fighting broke down into man on man melee like shown in the movie, the Spartans would be easily overcome. †(Military History/Spartan Battle Tactics) Another important strategy for Sparta during battle was incorporating suitable terrain for their benefit. â€Å"The rugged terrain isolated groups and made the use of chariots and cavalry very difficult†. (Spartan Military) In reality this only seems to make sense but even in the movie there is a scene where Spartan soldiers are pushing enemy troops off a seaside cliff, thus incorporating the use of a rough terrain to their advantage. The movie 300 was very accurate in displaying these strategies several times exactly how they are described to be used in real life by the Spartans. King Leonidas stands his troops in the center of two mountains with a strong line of soldiers close together for support. With the soldiers in perfect Phalanx order, they could simply replace one another in an instant if a soldier ahead died. Perhaps a crucial reason for the use of the Phalanx order in Spartans history and even in the movie, is because back in these ages war was usually fought almost chaotic. Never before has an army seen this kind of developed order on the battlefield which took them by surprise and gave Sparta a huge advantage. Although the Phalanx and the rough terrain were similar in comparison to the movie and actual Sparta history, that can not be necessarily said the same about the weapons used. In ancient history, the Spartans weapons have consisted of a large unwieldy spear called a Dory. This was typically aimed out over their large eight-foot hoplite shield, called an Aspis. This was followed by a chest plate and a solid helmet. Even though the Aspis and the spear were displayed correctly within the movie, a major difference distinguished with the wielded sword. Within the movie is a surplus of swords either called the Spatha or the Kopis. These were typically larger and had a more dangerous appearance to them than the original Lakonian sword. This sword that was actually used in real Spartan history fighting looked almost like a dagger. † The reason the Spartans shortened their sword was just that. It was easier to use in tight confines of the Phalanx and the press of men†. (Spartan Military) But this makes sense due to the fighting strategies used by them. Not only was the weapons slightly off in the movie, but also the use of them is depicted false. When the small Lakonian sword was used, it would have only been used to stab when an enemy went for a slash. In 300, there are several scenes showing Spartans slashing and hacking Persians which is incorrect. All in all, the movie 300 is a somewhat spot on movie with how actual Spartan military forces used weapons and battle strategies. Even with a couple obvious differences, one could argue their similarities.

One of the most striking relationships throughout the entire RÄ mÄ yaá ¹â€¡a is that between India's epic hero RÄ ma and his half-brother Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a. What is interesting about this affair is Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a's pure fidelity toward his brother and all his goals. While RÄ ma is the king on leave throughout most of the Hindu epic, Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a acts more or less as his royal servant and bodyguard of his most prized possession, that being RÄ ma's wife, SÄ «tÄ . Interestingly enough, Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a is very much an intelligent being himself, and one who revels in the longevity of his brother's interests and aims. This paper will deal with how these Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a creates himself as the most loyal of companions within the first book of the RÄ mÄ yaá ¹â€¡a. In the BÄ la KÄ Ã¡ ¹â€¡Ã¡ ¸ a, VÄ lmÄ «ki sets forth the ideal relationship between the brothers, which only grows stronger and allows the story to finish at the termination of t he Uttara KÄ Ã¡ ¹â€¡Ã¡ ¸ a. In order to understand Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a, we have to understand that he, like RÄ ma, is an avatar of Vishnu, and again, like RÄ ma, is sent forth into the forest with the sage ViÅ›vÄ mitra in order to conquer the demons that inhabit the land. Therefore, Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a is a royal and legitimate heir to the throne, although he is the youngest of all of the King of AyodhyÄ 's sons. Seemingly, his most striking characteristic is that of not only loyalty to RÄ ma, but to dhà ¡rma as well. Dhà ¡rma, aside from being the "right course of conduct in every dilemma," is a social contract for all human beings to follow. With the rise of the demon RÄ vaá ¹â€¡a and his dispensation from BrahmÄ  of a boon of invincibility, RÄ ma and Laká ¹ £maá ¹â€¡a vow to help save the kingdom and the world from this evildoer and henceforth, to promote and uphold dhà ¡rma.
